Privacy Policy

Without an account: everything (your language, reading streaks, highlights, and notes) stays on your device. Nothing is sent to us.

With an optional account: your email address, a securely hashed password, and your reading data (streak days, highlights, notes, reading-plan progress, experience points, and game scores) are stored with our database provider, Supabase, so your progress can sync across your devices. The leaderboard is opt-in — only if you choose to join it do your display name, level, and experience points become visible to other users, and you can leave it at any time.

If you use community features: your profile (display name, username, avatar, bio, badges), friendships, group memberships, reading check-ins, plan progress, chat messages, and the notes, highlights, verse images, plans, or milestones you explicitly share are stored in Supabase. Friends see only activity you choose to share. Existing private reading data is never automatically published.

If you enable remote notifications in the iOS app, OneSignal receives a push subscription/device identifier, basic device and operating-system information, session activity, and notification interactions. When you sign in, the subscription is linked to your Daily Maná user ID so group and account notifications reach the correct device.

If you enable Faith Lock on iPhone, Apple provides the app with private, opaque selections for the apps or categories you choose to restrict. Those selections and your lock schedule stay on your device and in the app's private iOS app group. Daily Maná does not receive app-usage history, browsing history, or the names of the apps you select.

If you submit a community prayer request, Supabase stores the request and your account ID so we can prevent abuse, let you manage it, count prayers, and notify you. Other members receive only the prayer text, category, language, date, and prayer count—not your account ID, name, profile, or contact information. Prayer interactions (prayed or skipped), reports, and blocks are also stored to prevent repeats and protect members.

Your email is used only to sign you in and recover your account. Your reading data is used only to show you your own notes and streaks. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not profile you, and we never sell or share it with third parties for their purposes.

Supabase hosts account data (email and synced reading data) on our behalf.

When you use the Bible reader, chapters are fetched from the free bible.helloao.org API, and audio narration streams from our media host. No personal information is sent with those requests.

Donations are completely optional and processed entirely by the provider you choose (Cash App or PayPal) on their own websites/apps. We never see or store your card, bank, or payment details.

OneSignal delivers optional remote push notifications and measures notification delivery and interaction. We use it for app functionality and service analytics, not advertising or tracking you across other companies' apps or websites.

YouTube videos and music: the Videos tab and optional Music search use YouTube Data API metadata and YouTube's official embedded player. A Music search sends only the words you enter, your language, and the normal technical request data through Daily Maná's proxy; it is not tied to your Daily Maná account. When a player loads, YouTube and Google receive your IP address, device and browser details, and may set cookies. We never download or host these videos, and we do not send Google your name, email, notes, or reading activity. If you prefer not to share data with YouTube, do not use Videos or Music search; bundled Daily Maná instrumentals remain available.

Notifications (optional): the daily verse reminder is scheduled only on your device. If you also use signed-in community notifications, OneSignal processes the notification subscription and interaction data described above so those remote alerts can be delivered.

Photos & camera (optional): only if you choose to set a community profile picture, we ask to access your photo library or camera so you can pick or take a picture. You can decline and use everything else normally.

Screen Time / Family Controls (optional): Faith Lock requests Apple's individual authorization only when you turn it on. It is used solely to restrict the apps you choose until your reading goal is complete. Apple keeps the selection private; Daily Maná does not collect, track, or transmit Screen Time usage data or the names of selected apps. You can turn Faith Lock off at any time.

Contacts (optional, if released): Daily Maná asks you to choose specific contacts. We check only the selected email addresses for exact account matches; we do not upload or retain your address book. You can add friends by exact username or email without granting contact access.

You can delete your account and all synced data at any time from the sign-in panel in the app ("Delete my account"). Deletion is immediate and permanent.
